Mirror on Creation
The Bible makes it very clear that the One known as Jesus of Nazareth is none other than the great Creator come in flesh. "All things were made by Him" - John 1:3. "Emmanuel - God with us" - Matthew 1:23.
As we trace His steps, it is interesting to see the seven days of
creation mirrored in His life here on earth. [All quotations are from the Authorized Version of the Bible unless otherwise stated.] 1. The Genesis account states that on Day One God said, "Let there be light" and into a scene of absolute darkness, light came. The advent of the Son of God into this world brought light. "The dayspring from on high hath visited us to give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace" - Luke 1:78-79. In Luke chapter 18 we meet a beggar who was blind. He lived in a permanent world of darkness with not one gleam of light penetrating his benighted eyes. Standing in front of the Carpenter from Nazareth, the blind beggar had his deepest longing granted, when He who is the 'Light of the World', said, "Receive thy sight". The glorious light of the Creator shone into his life, dispelling the darkness and opening up to him a whole new vista of colour and beauty! "For God Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ" - 2 Corinthians 4:6. 2. On Day Two, God said, "Let there be a firmament [an expanse] in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters." Here, God displayed His power over water, by taking water from this completely water-covered globe and placing it high above the atmosphere forming a vast vapour canopy, which was later to collapse in the days of Noah, providing the rain for the forty day-and-night deluge. The Lord Jesus spent many a day by Lake Galilee. On one occasion whilst crossing the lake in a violent storm, He was roused from sleep and standing up He rebuked the winds and the sea and it became perfectly calm. The amazed disciples asked, "What manner of Man is this! for He commandeth even the winds and the WATER" - Luke 8:25. On another occasion after feeding the multitudes with the five barley loaves and two fish, He walked on WATER to the disciples who were struggling against the elements on Lake Galilee. As Creator He had complete mastery and control over the water, and for that matter, the law of gravity too! 3. On Day Three the Lord made dry land appear as the waters were "gathered together unto one place." Then the Lord said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed and the fruit tree yielding fruit … whose seed is in itself." The Lord Jesus, when speaking to Andrew and Philip, made reference to both earth and plants in one sentence. He said, "Truly, truly I say to you, unless a grain of WHEAT falls into the EARTH and dies, it remains by itself alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit"- John 12:24 [NASV]. Here the Lord was speaking of His own impending death. He was the grain of WHEAT that must die: that must be buried in the EARTH (John 19:42). However, just as the granule of wheat sprung up again to bear many grains with its own likeness, so Jesus, the Son of God, that solitary grain of WHEAT, was raised up from among the dead on the THIRD day to "bear much fruit" - that is, those who trust in Him.

4. On Day Four, the Lord created the sun and the moon, those two great lights to rule the day and the night, and "He made the stars also."
